Worcestershire County League or Staffs Clubs League Comment Form

Some years ago the club made the decision to play in the Worcestershire County League for our third and fourth teams. This was based on playing better cricket on better grounds, and this objective has largely been achieved. At the time, Worcestershire was split North and South and whilst there was some additional travelling, it was never really an issue.

Worcestershire now operate a whole of County structure which stretches into Herefordshire, meaning there are a number of fixtures involving a considerable amount of travelling.

As such, the committee would like to know the opinions of its membership on this issue. By replying to this short questionnaire, your opinions will be made known to the committee before it makes a decision on whether to continue to play in the Worcestershire County League or return to the Staffs Clubs.

At this stage, we are not sure where either team will fit in Staffs, but it is likely they will be playing a mix of third and fourth teams on club’s second grounds,  and first second teams on the club’s main ground, as is the case in Worcs. This situation could alter if either team changes its division for next season, and will not be known until we know the exact  league for both teams.

Basically, the debate remains quality of cricket versus travelling.
